Well, I hadn’t really planned on visiting, but I felt this pull to go and see what was happening. And I’m so glad I did. Ended up dropping by this blind school run by an NGO, and let me tell you, it was something special. The welcome they gave me was just heartwarming. Met the principal, who took the time to show me around and tell me all about the amazing work they’re doing. From special board games to Braille maps and books, they’ve got it all to help these kids thrive.
Then came the tour with the warden, and I was blown away. These kids on computers? Lightning fast typers, and they’ve never even seen a keyboard before! And those music classes? The teacher lets them nod off while listening to music, and then they share their dreams when they wake up. How cool is that?
But let me tell you about the math class – pure genius. They’re tackling complex equations with these special Braille tools like it’s a walk in the park. It really makes you appreciate their resilience and intelligence.
And this little girl, around 10 years old, guided us like she could see everything. It was like she had some kind of sixth sense. And those teachers? Their fingers were flying as they read Braille. Truly impressive stuff. All in all, it was an eye-opening experience. They even gave me a visitor notebook, and I left them a note expressing my gratitude. Can’t wait to go back and see those teachers and their super kids again. They’re doing something truly special, and it was an honor to be a part of it, even for just a day.
